1. Our approach and your rights

If something is wrong with lighting supplied by us, contact us promptly. We will investigate the issue fairly, consider whether our supply or advice contributed, and provide the remedy required by law and any applicable written warranty. A goodwill arrangement may provide additional help; it does not replace your legal entitlements.

2. Australian Consumer Law

Your statutory rights apply independently of an express warranty and may continue after an express warranty expires.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The benefits of any additional warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies available under law. Where we supply Services, applicable statutory service guarantees also apply. We do not require you to abandon a claim, accept store credit or obtain our permission to exercise statutory rights.

3. 5 Year Replacement Warranty

Lighting Spaces Australia Pty Ltd offers a 5 Year Replacement Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship across all products we supply, including fittings, LED modules, drivers, finishes and supplied components, unless a different warranty period is expressly stated on the individual product page and disclosed before purchase.

This is a voluntary product replacement warranty. It covers the supply of a new replacement product for a confirmed covered defect; it is not an on-site service or labour warranty. Electrical, removal and reinstallation costs are excluded from this voluntary warranty as explained in section 7. This does not exclude any remedy, collection obligation or compensation required by the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

The period runs from the date of our original invoice for the product. Any different period applies only to the product or component identified in the terms disclosed at purchase. Later changes to this page or a product page do not reduce coverage already given. We provide applicable warranty terms with the supply; contact us for a copy.

For a covered defect arising during the applicable period, we will supply a new replacement of the same model after receiving and assessing the original faulty product, subject to section 6. If that model is unavailable, we will discuss a new equivalent replacement with you. If a suitable replacement cannot be provided within a reasonable time, we will agree an alternative remedy, without limiting any remedy you may require under law.

This warranty is given by Lighting Spaces Australia Pty Ltd using the contact details above. A manufacturer warranty is additional. Claimed operating life and lumen-maintenance figures do not themselves create a separate warranty period, without limiting an express representation or statutory right. Statutory rights may continue after this warranty expires.

4. What we assess

We assess whether a fault arises from materials, manufacture, assembly, finish, supplied components or a failure of the Goods to meet the agreed specification or applicable legal guarantees. Please supply available proof of purchase, product identification, the nature and timing of the fault, installation details and photographs where safe to obtain. A receipt is helpful, but other reasonable proof of purchase is acceptable.

The assessment may include inspection or testing, coordinated with you. We may request reasonably necessary technical information from your installer. Missing packaging, an incomplete form or an unavailable serial label does not automatically defeat a claim where the supply and fault can otherwise be established.

5. Installation, use and exclusions

Have electrical installation and disconnection performed by appropriately licensed persons. Follow the supplied installation and maintenance instructions, rated voltage and ambient limits, intended indoor or outdoor use, specified IP protection and compatible driver and control requirements.

An additional voluntary warranty may exclude a fault to the extent actually caused by incorrect installation, incompatible controls or power supplies, operation outside specified ratings, unauthorised modifications, misuse, neglected maintenance, impact, contamination, water ingress beyond the rated protection, electrical surges or external events. Normal wear, natural patina and normal gradual LED output change are assessed against the product’s stated performance, environment and reasonable expectations; a manufacturing defect is not simply classified as wear.

An unrelated alteration or installation issue does not void all coverage. None of these provisions excludes responsibility for a fault caused by us, a product failing a disclosed and agreed purpose, an express promise we made, or a statutory remedy.

6. Return before replacement and claim procedure

  1. If there is an electrical or safety concern, stop using the affected product and have a licensed electrician make it safe. Do not disconnect hardwired fittings yourself.
  2. Submit the form below with one clear invoice photo, including a reseller invoice where applicable, or contact warranty@lightingspaces.com.au, telephone us or write to us. The online form accepts invoice images only, rather than PDFs or other attachments. If you do not have an invoice photo, contact us directly with other reasonable proof of purchase. Provide available product details and an explanation of the fault. The form is a convenience, not a condition of statutory rights.
  3. We will provide return instructions and a claim reference. For a replacement under our voluntary warranty, the original faulty product must be returned to and received by Lighting Spaces for inspection and confirmation of the covered fault before a new replacement is dispatched, unless we agree otherwise in writing or applicable law requires another arrangement. Do not discard the product or send it to an unconfirmed address.
  4. We will assess the returned product and explain the outcome within a reasonable time. Where a product is difficult or unsafe to remove or cannot reasonably be returned without significant cost, contact us first so we can arrange collection, inspection or another process where required by law. The return requirement must not delay or defeat a statutory remedy.

Report faults as soon as reasonably practicable. There is no automatic 30-day reporting forfeiture under this page. Missing original packaging does not by itself invalidate a claim. Do not remove or return an electrically unsafe product without appropriate licensed assistance.

7. Replacement scope, electrical labour and other costs

Under our voluntary 5 Year Replacement Warranty, our obligation is limited to supplying the replacement product. The customer is responsible for electrical contractor call-out and labour charges, fault-finding, disconnection, removal, dismantling, reinstallation, reconnection, testing, commissioning, control-system programming, travel, access equipment, making good, freight and other associated costs, unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing or are required to bear those costs by law.

This exclusion applies only to the additional voluntary warranty. It does not exclude or restrict liability under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage resulting from a failure to meet a consumer guarantee. Depending on the circumstances, recoverable costs may include reasonable electrical, removal and reinstallation costs. We assess statutory expense claims on their facts; the replacement-only description does not determine whether an expense is legally recoverable.

Contact us before commissioning non-urgent third-party work or incurring costs you want us to reimburse. Obtain our written approval for any discretionary payment outside your legal entitlements. Prior approval is not a condition of recovering costs to which you are entitled by law, and does not prevent reasonably necessary emergency safety work. Keep itemised quotes, invoices and receipts and send them to warranty@lightingspaces.com.au with your claim reference.

Where required by law, we will arrange or pay for collection of faulty Goods that cannot reasonably be returned because of their size, installation or nature, and reimburse reasonable return costs for a confirmed faulty product. Other return or replacement-delivery costs under the voluntary warranty are your responsibility unless agreed otherwise. No automatic inspection fee applies; any proposed charge where no covered fault is found must be estimated and approved beforehand.

Your statutory remedies remain separate: for a major failure with Goods you may choose a refund or replacement and claim compensation as provided by law; for a non-major failure, the appropriate remedy must be provided within a reasonable time, with further rights if this is not done. A replacement under the voluntary warranty carries the unexpired balance of the original voluntary warranty period unless we expressly provide longer cover; statutory rights for the replacement remain unaffected.

8. If you disagree with an assessment

Ask us for the reasons and supporting findings, and provide any additional information you would like considered. We will review the matter in good faith. You may seek independent advice, contact Consumer Affairs Victoria or the relevant consumer agency, or exercise your court or tribunal rights. A claim is not invalid merely because we have not yet accepted it.

Tell us what happened. Fields marked * are required. You may also claim by phone, email or post. You do not need to accept a waiver to submit.

Take a clear photo or choose an invoice image from your phone. Include the seller, invoice date and number, and product details. A reseller invoice is welcome. One image only: JPG, PNG, WebP or supported HEIC, up to 10 MB. PDFs and other documents are not accepted by this form. If your invoice has several pages, combine the relevant details into one readable image or email us.

Only upload the invoice image. Cover unrelated personal information and payment-card or bank-account details; keep the seller, purchase and product details readable. If you do not have an invoice photo, contact warranty@lightingspaces.com.au or call us with other reasonable proof of purchase.

Your details are collected to assess and administer this claim and may be shared with relevant suppliers, installers or assessors where necessary, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Provide only information relevant to the issue. Do not include passwords, payment-card details or unrelated personal information. Your claim details and invoice photo will be emailed to warranty@lightingspaces.com.au for assessment. The image is processed temporarily outside the public Media Library and removed from the website after the email attempt. Your claim details are retained privately for administration. After submission, you will receive an on-screen reference.

Submission emails your claim and invoice photo to our warranty team and saves the claim details for staff review. No automatic email receipt is sent to you. If the form is unavailable, email warranty@lightingspaces.com.au or call 1800 688 596.
