New Urban Alley Chadstone
Warm light, sculptural details and connected spaces across two levels at Chadstone’s The Social Quarter.
Across two levels at The Social Quarter, New Urban Alley Chadstone uses light to give a large hospitality venue an intimate rhythm. Warm illumination brings out the character of timber, stone and brass, connecting lively bar areas with quieter places to gather.
Concealed LED strips trace the bars, arches and banquette seating, while downlights and track spots bring focus to the space. Sculptural pendants define the private dining room. At the staircase, integrated lighting and illuminated wall features turn the journey between floors into a focal point.

Vispring
Quiet yet intentional lighting. Letting the opulence stand out.
At Vispring’s Armadale showroom, quiet, carefully placed light keeps the focus on the beds, fabrics and finishes. Modo Anti-Glare downlights provide discreet illumination, while concealed linear lighting traces the curtain pelmets, display shelves and raised platform.
At the rear, an evenly illuminated stretch-membrane ceiling frames the feature bed with a soft, expansive light. Together, these layers give the showroom a calm atmosphere and let the craftsmanship take centre stage.

The Lighting Spaces team are ecstatic to be a part of the creation of EQ Wellbeing, a visionary project conceived by a talented team to bring to reality an innovative and immersive sanctuary for well-being.
Our task was to provide the right luminaires to achieve an immersive experience, ensuring each space expresses the correct intention in the journey. Our new Hiro Anti Glare and Dot Collection are responsible for the ambient illumination, creating a welcoming environment. The multi-layered sensory experience, enhanced by smooth color changing, is made possible with our Lyne RGBW, Neon Flex and Lyne Digital LED strip.
Light plays a crucial role in influencing our mood and overall well-being. Exposure to natural light can boost our mood, energy levels, and productivity by regulating our circadian rhythms, which control sleep-wake cycles.Light therapy using bright artificial lighting can enhance mood, increase alertness, and improve overall mental health, making it a powerful tool in promoting emotional well-being.

A 'simple' vision, of a worldclass showroom.
Paul Riachi had a clear idea in mind for Rio’s newest Preston location. A ‘worldclass’ showroom, aiming to capture the glitz of Hollywood film sets. To bring his vision to life, we supplied a custom lighting solution for the cinema front, adding to its cinematic charm.
His design also paid tribute to a popular character from DC Comics, a staple of countless films. Findex Melbourne
Open communication lines during this project paid off, the result being a warm and inviting workspace where professional development flourishes.
Employers throughout Australia are hopping on the trend of opulent workspaces – a collaborative environment in which team productivity thrives and colleagues look forward to coming to regularly. One of these employers is a Melbourne branch of Findex, specialising in financial and advisory services for clients across Australia.
The Findex project designer requested our involvement in the specification and procurement of modern lighting solutions for this new, sleek workspace. We had a complex yet exciting challenge ahead, as most lighting features – from those in the break room to the co-working zones – needed to be custom-made. Working closely with the designer on this matter was crucial to guarantee on-time delivery in preparation for the office re-opening to staff members.
Our team sourced and installed the Spek Dot 40 in various locations, including the lobby area (which created an attractive wall-shadow effect). The Spek Dot 40 was also fitted in the ceiling leading to meeting rooms, guiding employees in a pleasant and approachable way.
Alongside the Spek Dot 40, we installed the Lyne Standard 9.6 and S1813 profile throughout – one of the prime examples being in the meeting rooms. As each room gave the option of privacy, demonstrated by the floor-to-ceiling curtains, they offered a cosy light source. The main advantage of using these two LED strip lights was their micro size, accentuating the curves of each bespoke feature without drawing excessive attention.

Urban Alley Brewery
A happy client and satisfied local beer fans. Cheers to that!
One of the best ways to relax and catch up with friends is over a nice, chilled beer – something we are sure our past client, Urban Alley Brewery, agrees on!
Lighting Spaces was asked to create a lighting solution that matched the industrial-modern feel of this brewery in Knox. Both the interior and exterior façade received our expert attention, with the goal of creating a relaxed venue people flock to at weekends, during warm summer months, or simply after a long day at the office.
The most valuable lighting product used was the Neon Micro 1010, a small yet powerful product designed for spaces with curving light. We fitted the linear light in various spots throughout the Urban Alley Brewery, including the banquet-style tables and stools on the ground floor and the big, round orange seat for more intimate gatherings. Thanks to its IP68 waterproof rating, the Neon Micro 1010 could also be installed in the outdoor façade area for customers looking to sit there – no matter the time of day or weather.
Alongside the Neon Micro 1010, our team used the Lyne Standard 9.6W strip and S1813 profile to encapsulate the community spirit at the brewery. Installation included at the bar area, featuring grey stone and rustic wood against a backdrop of steel fermentation tanks. We fitted the LED strip lights on the mezzanine level, as well, to extend the feeling of inclusion to everyone visiting Urban Alley Brewery.

Victoria by Farmer’s Daughters
An exceptional location to dine, with an alluring atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome.
Those familiar with Melbourne CBD’s top culinary spots are probably aware of Farmer’s Daughters, a popular restaurant and bar led by chef Alejandro Saravia. Following the success of his first venue, Alejandro and his team recently transformed the Yarra Building in Fed Square, relaunching it as a three-storey restaurant and rooftop bar called Victoria by Farmer’s Daughters.
Having collaborated previously for the original Farmer’s Daughters venue, Lighting Spaces was approached to replicate a similarly inviting atmosphere at Alejandro’s newest venue. The intention was to procure and install modern lighting solutions that would enhance the ambience, treating diners to the ultimate culinary experience of Australia’s finest fresh produce.
With the venue’s mantra of ‘celebrating the produce, people and places of Victoria’ at the back of our minds, we fitted a selection of the finest lighting products. These included the Modo Spot Two S110, a sleek recessed spotlight creating a warm mood and aesthetic shadowing. It acted as general lighting radiating from the ceiling, alongside a dramatic effect on the dark shelving units. We also mapped out and installed Lyne Standard 9.6, housed in our S1808 profile, throughout the various table zones to generate a pleasant setting for seated diners.

Farmer’s Daughters
Our lighting products illuminate every focal point of the venue for the ultimate Farmer’s Daughters dining experience!
Located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD is Farmer’s Daughters, a three-storey restaurant with a rooftop bar – a popular favourite among locals and tourists alike.
The venue is proudly Australian, serving local fresh produce cooked by chef Alejandro Saravia and his team. Lighting Spaces was approached to recommend and install products that would enhance the warm, inviting ambience – without stealing the limelight from Alejandro’s famous dishes.
The key to this project was ‘discretion’. We settled on subtle modern lighting products that would complement the main interior components of raw finished timber, eucalyptus green, and bronze finishes. Our team made sure to accentuate each centrepiece of the venue, particularly the multiple bar areas, the staircases supporting diners from floor to floor, and the nature-inspired greenery on the terrace.
We installed the Lyne Micro 9.6 throughout, with the 3.5mm-wide LED strip lights illuminating even the smallest nooks within the venue. Housed within our M0809, its used to attract focus towards the perfect blend of soft and harsher-edged features.
The Lighting Spaces team also fitted Rea Wall Up Down 60 downlights in antique copper to establish table zones, create layered lighting schemes, and balance out the bronze interior finishes. Every downlight was measured and tailored to a certain width and length, in line with the specific installation wall.

Dexus Atrium
A breath of fresh air in Naarm
The multi-tier atrium terrace in Dexus Atrium was designed to emulate the spirit of Australia, with its unique shapes and curves throughout requiring a flexible, contemporary light source. The Neon Pro T1617 and Neon Pro S1617 were selected for these reasons, alongside the guarantee to deliver outstanding brilliance throughout the space.
The terrace roof was fitted with a mix of Neon Pro T1617 and S1617, with its goal being to celebrate Australia’s global reputation as the land down under. The lighting solution was installed to catch the eye of passers-by and encourage them to explore each symbolic tier, from the iconic beach formations up at the top to the guided forest realm down below.
Australia’s beaches are truly one of a kind, taking the main stage of the atrium terrace. The Neon Pro was applied strategically, following the rippling curves to accentuate their representation of the shorelines, the white sands, and the awe-inspiring apostles. With the light source focused centrally, it created a gradient shadow effect on each towering apostle to highlight its dominance over the landscape.
The final chapter of this project design story revolved around Australian forest life, honouring the native fauna and flora that make it unique. The Neon Pro was installed to follow the undulations of each floor segment, casting magnificent bright-white radiance upon the trees above and the elaborate superb lyrebirds underneath.
It might not be every day you come across a commercial space inspired by Australia symbolism, but we hope it will be soon…

Makan
Escaping the CBD for an exclusive taste of Indonesia.
Indonesian restaurant Makan requested lighting features that would enhance its image as a suave, discreet dining experience tucked away within Melbourne’s bustling CBD.
Due to inevitable programming and controller complexities, everything required mapping out before installation. This extensive planning ensured a smooth fitting process from start to finish.
The team installed the latest multicolour linear lighting technology: high-density RGB multicolour strip with a dedicated ‘warm white’ chip (as traditional RGB chips alone cannot replicate the pleasant warm white required for the task at hand).
Makan also benefitted from custom wall lights, adding depth to the restaurant space as a visually pleasing yet functional fixture.
The installation of multicolour linear lighting and custom wall lights have created a swanky, inviting place for CBD workers and visitors alike to dine in.

Asian Grocer
A modern twist to a grocery retail space.
Melbourne-based Asian Grocer requested a fresh take on Asian grocery shop aesthetics.
Rather than the typical fluorescent-lit grocery shops, the project’s Architect adopted a modern take to offer a different experience that could be enjoyed by both customers and employees alike.
Linear luminaires and surface-mounted downlights with High CRI were used, providing pools of illumination and vividness to showcase the various product areas around the shop. In addition, the lighting fixtures were mounted with the intention of complementing the shop’s high ceilings, wooden accents, and mahjong tiled counters.
An immensely successful project, the grocery shop now benefits from a spacious, modern, and refreshed aesthetic.

420 St Kilda Rd
A bright, modern lobby that is sure to entice – day or night.
420 St Kilda Road in Melbourne requested lighting solutions that would highlight the architectural features of the lobby.
To enhance the look of this modern space, the team assembled bespoke curved linear lights that conformed precisely to the curves of the walls and illuminated their timber features. The mixed-use of linear uplighting and downlighting provided general illumination and showcased different aspects across the lobby; this includes the extensive window panelling, natural elements, and ultra-modern furniture.
In addition, lighting was stationed behind the mirror near the lifts to enhance the envisioned size of the space. One of the team’s most memorable parts of the project was installing unique lighting features on the ceiling, with the multi-texture, multi-level ‘waves’ contributing a certain uniqueness to the space.
The sleek, sophisticated, and modern lobby is guaranteed to catch the eye of and instil a sense of intrigue among passers-by – no matter the day or time.
